CHICANO PARK PHOTO ESSAY
![]() This is the bus we rode on. As you can see it says special because it was for our whole team. | ![]() In this image I was sitting in the bus using a filter on snapchat showing that we were currently in downtown on our way to the trolley station. |

![]() These are the people I sat with in the bus. My buddy was also with me in the bus (far right). | ![]() This is me posing beside the train tracks before the train arrived. |
![]() We had to choose a buddy while we were waiting for the train, so here is a picture of me and buddy on our field trip to Chicano park. | ![]() Once we got off the train we started heading to the Chicano Park. In this picture you see me clicking the button to cross the road. |
![]() When we arrived this was the first mural I saw and I really liked it because it was a very bright and colorful painting. Unfortunately I do not have information on this mural. | ![]() This is me posing with the statue of Emiliano Zapata before our tour guide came. He was known for standing up for the poor, for those who didn't have homes. Emiliano was the main leader of the peasant revolution in Morelos. Sadly he was assassinated on April 10, 1919. |
![]() Our tour guide showed us this mural of leaders in this movement of Chicanos. I really fell in love with it because I saw a lot of leaders that I recognized such as Cesar Chavez, Frida Khalo, Dolores Huerta, and more. | ![]() This circular plate shows aztlan. Aztlan was once a part a Mexico, but the United States took it away from them. |
![]() Here is a mural of a man starting to build the Chicano Park. I took this picture because it really fascinated me that he is the uncle of a classmate named Marissa. | ![]() I also fell in love with this mural because in order to see it right side up you have to lay down. The artist that painted this had arthritis and was old so he painted it while laying down so that's basically why you had to lay down on the floor to see it. |
![]() This guy right there was the uncle of our tour guide and he stays there the whole day to take care of the park. So I took a picture with him because he is so awesome for doing that and I pay my respects to him. | ![]() The painting behind me is a mural in Chicano park, this was taken once the tour was done and this painting really caught my attention so I took a picture with it. |
![]() After coming from the Chicano park we went to go eat in 4 milpas. They had a variety of Mexican food, it tasted amazing. |
