Dia de los muertos

For Dia De Los Muertos I wasn't really in a committee. I am Christian and as a Christian I do not celebrate Dia De Los Muertos. A lot of people ask why and I'm going to explain to you my knowledge on why I don't celebrate it.

WHY DON'T I CELEBRATE DDLM?

In Dia de Los Muertos they have traditions that are "bringing the dead back to life" which I don't believe in. Only God is worthy of rising the dead. In 1 timothy 4:7 it says "Have nothing to do with irreverant, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness;". Aside from that the dead aren't capable of listening or responding to prayers.

WHAT I DID DURING THE PROJECT

During this project I had to find what to do. I did a lot of research on why Christians don't celebrate Dia de Los Muertos and Halloween. I found a couple of verses and I found new information. I also made a drawing dedicated to what I was researching, I didn't end up making it on a bigger canvas but I still did a drawing. When I wasn't doing research I was helping out the make up commitee. I let them practice on me, specifically Marissa Perez. She practiced many different facepaintings such as a dog, a shark, and a giraffe. Since I don't celebrate DDLM she practiced face paintings that don't have to do with it which was good for me but for her too because she got practice.
