PHOTO ESSAY

This was the first day of internship. I was able to work in my mentors office.

After a lot of drafting in my notebook and watching YouTube videos, I finally decided to make google image drawings to make it simpler for other people to understand the drills.

A lot of the time when we were in the office doing work, my supervisor Mike would ask us to do him some favors. For example, doing laundry, pumping the balls, organizing the storage room, etc.

I got the chance to paint a soccer field and I learned it's harder than it looks.

Once we were done with our office work we would go to break around 4-4:30. To be honest it felt kind of cool knowing the code to the break room since I always used to pass by it when I was just a member at the YMCA.

Usually after taking our break we would go to soccer, sometimes we would go to volleyball but most of the time it was soccer.

I was very fortunate enough to get to meet all the kids during the practices. They cheer me up a lot and they are very funny. I got to memorize most of the names of the soccer kids.

After the practices I would gather up the balls and take the cart to the storage room.

Throughout the time there, I was able to get closer to the people that I worked with. This is a chocolate one of the soccer coaches gave to me out of courtesy.

These are a couple of videos that were highlights. They were just funny & fun parts of my day that made me laugh.

Saturday I went in around 9:30. Since we had nothing to do I decided to go visit my mom in her Zumba class and dance with her and Maritza.

On Saturdays it was mostly all just score keeping for sports. I learned how to do both basketball and soccer. They are very distinct. In basketball you have to be paying way more attention because you can get off track very easily.

A lot of the basketball and soccer games were really fun to watch.

This was my last Friday at internship and all the interns from the Border View YMCA were invited out to eat at Phil's BBQ. I am genuinely very happy I got to experience this and what's even better is that I got to experience it with great people around me.
