RTC PROJECT

RISING TIDE CONSERVATION

According to rising tide conservation their mission is to protect coral reefs using sustainable aquaculture.Rising Tide Conservation develops techniques for raising marine fish for public displays and aquarium hobbyists. These methods promote conservation and sustainability, provide an alternative to wild reef collection, and protect our valuable marine habitats.

SO WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?

As a class we bought fish tanks and we researched about different fresh water fish that we would like in the tanks. Our goal is to maintain these freshwater sea creatures and maybe even breed them. We are working with the Rising Tide Conservation to make this possible. We have been going on field trips to learn more about these animals and we have been researching as well.

This is my gallery from field experiences.

I took this picture on our field trip to Sea World. We got to see the behind the scenes action and how they maintain these animals.

In this lab we used a swimming crab and horn snails. We wanted to see how the snails reacted to the crabs water rather than how they reacted with clear water.

We left the snails alone for half an hour and came back, we found that these snails moved onto the second cup more often with the crab water and less often with the normal water.
