THE ENERGY DEBATE PROJECT

For this project we had to research information on different types of energies. I learned many things about it. For example, we researched about different incidents that happened because of energy sources and testing like fukushima or three mile island. The debate tournament was like is nuclear worth the risk or like should we use nuclear and etc. The debate format was really organized and formatted so everyone speaks at least once. The first question we had to answer is "does nuclear energy help solve the problem of global warming?". The second question was "Is there a location that is fair and safe to store nuclear waste?". The third was "Do the benefits of nuclear outweigh the benefits of renewable sources?". The fourth is "Will nuclear fission be a limitless solution to our energy needs?". And the last question was "If an accident occurs, do the possible negative outcomes outweigh the benefits of nuclear energy?".

CREW ASSIGNMENT

CREW stands for Claim Reasoning Evidence, and Warrant. Claim is basically a statement that you agree with. Reasoning is why you think your claim is correct or why you think the evidence is valid. Evidence is showing proof of why your claim is correct like maybe giving statistics or facts and etc. Warrant is the "conclusion" of it all.

WHAT IS CREW?

REFLECTION

I learned a lot like about incidents with nuclear energy that I hadn't known as before. I also found my own preference in the kind of energy I want for america.

WHAT ARE SOME NEW THINGS YOU LEARNED HOW TO DO IN THIS PROJECT?

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF FROM THIS PROJECT?

I'm proud that I made it far in the debate and my group won first place. I felt accomplished because I like debating a lot and I was surprised I made it that far. I never would've thought I would make it far in the debate.

WHAT WAS CHALLENGING ABOUT THIS PROJECT?

I think finding valid information was the hardest part of this project. Also being able to defend any side of the argument was very  challenging.

IF YOU WERE TO DO THIS PROJECT AGAIN, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?

I would probably want less CREW's but I would put more effort into finding more information for my CREW.
